OFDM/A table

Each modem is listed by modem+channel+IUC/Profile information. The modem MAC address is listed for each channel/frequency associated with the modem, so MAC addresses on multiple channels/frequencies are listed multiple times.

The OFDM/A table shows the following:

  • Row Number — Table row number.
  • MAC Addr — Modem MAC address. Listed for each channel/frequency associated with the modem, so MAC addresses on multiple channels/frequencies are listed multiple times.
  • Virtual Spectrum Analyzer Availability — Optional, separately licensed feature. Indicates whether a modem has the ability to display a spectrum. A + sign indicates that a modem has this capability.
  • Channel — Channel associated with the MAC Address.
  • ifAlias — Alias configured on the CMTS for the channel.
  • IUC/Profile — Interval usage code for a modem.
  • Configured Channel Start (MHz) — Lists the starting frequency in a range.
  • Configured Channel End (MHz) — Lists the ending frequency in a range.
  • Modulation — Modulation associated with the MAC Address.

  • Status — Online or offline status of the modem.

    Status can be:

    • Online — The modem is registered, enabled for data, and reachable.
    • Offline — The modem is not reachable and contributes toward an Outage.
    • SNMP Unreachable — The modem is detected by the CMTS but is not responding to SNMP poll requests. This may indicate that noise on the network is interrupting the poll. A modem with this status is treated as offline and counts toward an Outage. This is an optional state that is configurable in the NXT-ENG config file. If set to disabled, the modem will be treated as online.
    • No Data — The modem was previously reachable but is no longer detected by the CMTS. This status may indicate that the modem has been offline for more than 24 hours. A modem with this status is considered offline and contributes toward an Outage. This is an optional state that is configurable in the NXT-ENG config file. If set to disabled, the modem will be treated as unknown.
    • Unknown — The modem has never been reachable. A modem with this status does not contribute toward an Outage. If No Data is enabled, then it is reported if the modem has never been on. If No Data is disabled, then it is reported if the modem is not currently reported on the CMTS.
  • IUC/Profile status — Whether the modem is using the selected channel as a data channel.
    • active(1) — The modem is using the selected channel as a data channel.
    • inactive(0) — The modem is not using the selected channel as a data channel.
  • RF Parameters — For Proactive alarms, data is shown for all of the RF Parameters. Refer to Issue types and RF parameters to see all proactive alarm RF parameters. Refer to Key performance indicators for RF parameter definitions.
    NOTE: For OFDM and OFDM/A Channel FEC parameters, rolled up values are displayed in the Channel CCER (%), Channel CER (%), and Channel CCER+CER (%) columns. See Channel roll-up of OFDM/A FEC parameters for more information.

    Icons indicate issue severity, and the text in the cells is colored by severity.

  • Latest Proactive Scan — Date and time of the latest Proactive scan, relative to the time that you are viewing.
  • Latest Outage Scan — Date and time of the latest Outage scan, relative to the time that you are viewing.
