You can clone a Topology Set from the Topology Set view. However, your user profile must belong to a group that contains the "Topology Set" permission.

To clone a Topology Set:

  1. Select the existing Topology Set you want to clone.
  2. Click the Clone Topology Set icon.

    Then, the Copy [Topology Set Name] dialog box opens.
    NOTE: The Copy [Topology Set Name] dialog box is free-floating. It can be moved around the user interface to better access the information behind it.

  3. Enter a new name for the set or keep the pre-populated name.
    NOTE: When naming a Topology Set, it can be useful to include the Topology Set type in the set name.
  4. You can keep the pre-populated elements, delete them, or add new elements to the set.
    NOTE: You cannot change the type of the set you are cloning, even if you delete all the elements.
    1. Click Clear next to the selected elements to remove them all from the set.
    2. Click the X next to an individual element to remove just that element from the set.
    3. Add new elements to the set using one of the following methods:
      • Import elements from a CSV file.

        Click import a CSV file, and select the file to import. See Import Topology Set file format for accepted file formats.

      • For a CM Set:
        • Start typing a MAC address in the search field, and select a match.

          Partial matches appear as soon as you start typing. Searches match the following fields:

          • MAC address
          • Fiber node
          • Customer ID
        • From the Hierarchy view, open the Modem Summary tab, and select modems to add to your set.
      • For a CMTS Set:
        • Start typing a CMTS name in the search field, and select a match.

          Partial matches appear as soon as you start typing.

        • From the Hierarchy view, click on the box adjacent to the CMTS name to add it to your set.
        • From the Hierarchy view, open the CMTS tab, and select CMTSs add to your set.
      • For a Channel Set:
        • Start typing a channel name in the search field, and select a match.

          Partial matches appear as soon as you start typing. Use the "@" as a delimiter between the channel and CMTS. Searches match the following fields:

          • Channel
          • CMTS ID
          • CMTS Nodes
          • IfAlias
        • From the Hierarchy view, open the Channel Summary tab, and select channels to add to your set.
        NOTE: You cannot mix upstream and downstream channels in one set.
  5. Click Confirm to create your Topology Set or Cancel to exit the dialog box without creating your Topology Set.
