Add new Event Trap filter criteria

Trap filtering reduces the occurrence of false alarms by filtering event traps based on specific criteria you provide. If you filter an event trap, the alarm associated with that trap is not displayed in the SDM. Trap filtering prevents the data for that trap from reaching the events. Trap filtering affects all users of the SDM.

To add new event trap filter criteria:

  1. Select Fault > Event Filter. The Event Filter window is displayed.
  2. Click Add. The Event Filter Definition window is displayed:
  3. Select the following information, as needed, using the drop-down lists:
    • Group
    • Severity
    • Device type
    • Device name
    • Trap name
  4. Select Enable and then click OK to add the event trap filter.
