To create a modem record with ServAssure FieldPro desktop:
  1. Open the Analyze Modem View application.
  2. Enter the MAC address of the modem in the search box.

    If the MAC address matches an existing modem, the Overview tab opens.
  3. Click the FieldPro tab.
    If modem record(s) exist for the MAC address, the most recent are displayed, up to the maximum number saved (the default is 5).
  4. Click Create Modem Record.

    A connection is made and the following data is displayed:
    The FieldPro tab of the Analyze Modem View application. There are three blue boxes: Device Record, with the MAC address of the modem; Collection Status with CM and CMTS and a green "Pass" with check mark; Sample Collection with Required (2), Collected(0), and Failed(0).
  5. Click Start Collection.
    Samples are collected from the modem for up to 2 minutes. Once the Collected samples equals the Required samples, the Stop Collection button becomes active. You can stop the collections or allow collections to proceed for the entire time.
    Once collection is completed, the modem record details collected to this point are displayed. This includes: Provisioning Facts, General Snapshot, and Interface Snapshot. For details, refer to ServAssure FieldPro modem record details.
  6. Click Next.
    The General Questions section appears.
  7. Answer the questions and click Save.
    The modem record is created and you are returned to the list of modem records for this MAC address.
NOTE: A modem record can only be saved if the data collection was successful and the mandatory questions are answered.
