When a modem is selected for spectrum analysis in Spectrum View, it is assigned the next available alphabetical letter and added to the list of selected modems. Although many modems can be selected for analysis, spectrum analysis can display data from only two modems at a time. The follow describes the various possible states for a modem in the list of modems selected for spectrum analysis:

  • White—The modem is selected for spectrum analysis but is not currently being analyzed.
  • Black—The modem is currently being analyzed without the data received from the modem being highlighted in the graph.
  • Red—This color is shown when you hover your cursor over a modem that is currently being analyzed, causing the data received from the modem to be highlighted in the graph.
  • Purple—This color is shown when you click on a modem that is currently being analyzed, causing the data received from the modem to be highlighted in the graph until either the modem is clicked again or another modem is clicked. Only one modem can be in a purple state at a time.

In the following example, modem A is highlighted in the graph alongside a non-highlighted modem B, while modem C is not actively being analyzed.
