The Generic Device Plug-in should be added to the SDM. The procedure for doing so is similar to that for adding device specific firmware.
- Change to the directory /home/sdm/firmware on the SDM server.
- Create a new subdirectory named Generic in /home/sdm/ firmware.
- Create a subdirectory named Type-1 in the new Generic directory.
- Copy all of the files from the Generic Device Plug-in CD (or from the removable media on which the plug-in is stored) to the Type-1 directory.
- Launch the SDM client.
- Select the sequence Configuration > Firmware Management from the SDM application. The Firmware Management page is displayed.
- Select Add Firmware on the Firmware Management page.
- Select Generic Device Type.
- Click Execute.
