Connectivity Scores report on degraded modem hours by thresholded values: critical, major, minor, normal, and unknown. A degraded modem hour indicates an hour where service is negatively impacting applications that are particularly sensitive to the quality of service, such as VoIP, or streaming video. Connectivity Scores are calculated by the ServAssure NXT Insight Views as described in How Connectivity Score is calculated.
The Insight Views calculates the Connectivity Score of each modem by aggregating the uncorrectable codeword error rates of the SC-QAM and OFDM/A channels. Depending on position in the hierarchy, different views from within Insight Views are utilized:
- CMTS and above — The CMTS_TOT view is used to make the calculation. The data can be delayed between 2 and 3 hours, due to poll cycles.
- MAC Domain and SG — The CM_TOT view is used to make the calculation. There is no delay in receiving the data to make the calculation.
You must configure the connection to Insight Views in the ServAssure NXTManagement tool. For more information on configuring the connection, see the ServAssure® NXT Design and Installation Guide.
