There are two ways to generate the device configuration file:

  1. If you know the IP address or name of a device that is representative of the devices being added or modified, thereby eliminating the necessity to define many parameters:
    • Select Configuration > Tools > Device Config from the Menu Bar. The Device Configuration Report screen displays.
    • Type the <device name> or <IP address> in the Device field.
    • Click Generate. The Device Configuration Report screen is displayed (in the illustration, the top and bottom of the report are fused together to save space:

  2. If you prefer to use the Properties window:
    • In the View List, open the Networks tree and select a network to display its device icons in the active window (repeat as necessary until a prospect device is found).
    • Right-click on the device icon.

    • From the pop-up list, select Properties. The Properties window is displayed.
    • If the device appears to be a generic representation of those being added or modified, in the Properties window, click Report. The Device Configuration Report is displayed (in the illustration, the top and bottom of the report are fused together to save space):

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the report and click CSV File to generate the params CSV file.
  4. Click the <hyperlink to the generated CSV file name>.
  5. Click Save in the File Download window that is displayed.
  6. In the Save As window, browse to the Save In folder, specify the File Name for the CSV file, and click Save.
  7. Continue with Format a parameter list CSV File or Format a device list CSV file.
