  1. Select Configuration > Discover Devices. The Discovery Management window is displayed.
  2. Select the Configure Community Strings tab.

    All the currently configured community strings are displayed in the Community Strings pan, with their sources noted.

  3. Enter the community string to be configured in the Enter Community String entry box. Community string names can be from 1 to 16 characters in length, and can consist of any alphanumeric characters (that is A through Z, a through z, and 0 through 9),as well as these special characters: ~ ` ! @ # $ % ^

    & * ( ) _ - + = { } [ ] \ | : ; " ' < > . , ? /

    NOTE: Spaces are not permitted in a community string.
  4. Click Add. The string is added to the list in the Community Strings pane, the SDM database, and the seed properties file.
    NOTE: The newly added community string will be used for future device discovery operations, if the discovery fails with the existing community strings.
