Modulation switching displays graphic indicators for SC-QAM upstream graphs when modulation goes up or down.
- When only one
frequency is selected in the Display tab, modulation
changes are shown as a circle indicating the
direction of the change.

- When more than one frequency is selected in the Display tab, indicators display as an ellipse. The frequency at which the modulation change happened is displayed in the image label.
- If there are
multiple modulation changes at a specific instant
(this happens when more than one of the selected
frequencies changes modulation at that same
instant), the label on the image will then change to
indicate 3 dots, rather than a specific
frequency. The color for the ellipse uses the same
color scheme as the single frequency case.

For example, at time 't', 2 frequencies f1 and f2 changed modulations and both of them decreased. In this case, the ellipse will display as a red color with 3 dots. If both the frequencies increased, the ellipse will display as a green color with 3 dots.
In a second example, suppose that f1 increases, and f2 decreases. In this case, the image will display a gray ellipse with 3 dots.
- When there
are no modulation changes for a selected frequency
in the selected time period, there will be NO
graphical visual indicators (circle or ellipsoid).
However, text will display at the top left of the
graph with the modulation value(s) for the selected
frequencies for the duration of the timeline.
Text and the graph may display as
QAM 16 @ 22.8 MHz
QAM 16 @ 22.8 MHz / QAM 16 @ 34 MHz
