Add a transport stream template

  1. Select Templates > Transport Stream from the navigation bar.
  2. Click the (Menu) button.
    The menu options appear.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Enter a unique name for this template.
  5. Select from one of the following template types:
    Broadcast
    1. Video Data Type of Video is automatically entered.
    2. Select the Annex Mode.
    3. If you select Annex B, the default Info Rate (bps) is automatically added. Click the Use Symbol Rate checkbox to toggle if desired.
    4. If you select Annex A or C, the default Symbol Rate (sps) is added automatically. You can modify these values, if necessary.
    5. Enter a Null PID B/W (bps) value. The default value is zero.

    Narrowcast

    1. Video Data Type of Video is automatically entered.
    2. Select the Annex Mode.
    3. If you select Annex B, the default Info Rate (bps) is automatically added. Click the Use Symbol Rate checkbox to toggle if desired.
    4. If you select Annex A or C, the default Symbol Rate (sps) is added automatically. You can modify these values, if necessary.
    5. Enter a Null PID B/W (bps) value. The default value is zero.

    Downstream OOB

    1. Video Data Type of STE55_1DS is automatically entered.
    2. Select the Annex Mode.
    3. The default Info Rate (bps) of 0 is automatically added regardless of Annex. You can modify this value, if necessary.
  6. Select one of the following Transport Stream types:
    Multiple Program Transport Stream (MPTS)
    Multiple programs sent through one QAM channel.
    Single Program Transport Stream (SPTS)
    Single program sent through one QAM channel.
  7. Select one of the following Creation Methods, if available:
    VUEAPI
    Service group and channel frequency coordination is performed using the template.
    UDPPortMapping
    Transport stream coordination is done using UDP port mapping based on supplied UDP and Program information in the template.
    NOTE: This creation method is available for narrowcast templates only.
    RTSPsession
    Transport streams are routed to the output under the control of an external controller using the RTSP protocol.
    NOTE: This creation method is available for narrowcast templates only.
    RPCsession
    Transport streams are routed to the output by receiving and processing commands from two external sources using the RPC protocol.
    NOTE: This creation method is available for narrowcast templates only.
  8. If you use the UDPPortMapping creation method, you must specify the starting UDP Port and Program Count for transport streams created with this template.
  9. Click Save.

The template is added to VTM.
