Address sorting is performed by attempting to divide an address into three parts: a prefix, a house number, and a suffix. The first part of an address found containing a number is treated as the house number.

The delimiters used to split the House Number and Suffix are:

  • Space — " "
  • Dash — "-"
  • Slash — "/"

The following table demonstrates how addresses are divided.

After breaking an address apart, ServAssure NXT applies a sorting algorithm to sort addresses using the following precedence:

  1. Prefix or Suffix if no Prefix exists
  2. House Number
  3. Suffix

The following examples demonstrate the results of the sorting algorithm.

Example – US addresses

  • 30 Main Street
  • 50 Main Street
  • 47 West Street
