Management Control Parameters include options in the Management Control Parameters pane, and the Network Interfaces pane.

Item

Description

Managed

In the Managed pane, select the Managed checkbox to enable trap processing and status polling of devices.

Deselecting this option disables trap processing, including configuration changes and alarm and status propagation. When fault monitoring is deselected, you can still enable or disable BOOTP requests, as well as retrieve and update the configuration and status parameters of a device.

BOOTP

Action

To configure a Bootp action:

  1. Select the Configuration tab, and select the row containing the interface on which to perform a Bootp action.
  2. Scroll right to the Bootp Action column.
  3. Click the drop down arrow on the selected field. From the drop down menu:
    • Select Unconditional for the SDM to send a response back every time a BOOTP request is received.
    • Select Conditional for the SDM to send a response back only if changes are present in the BOOTP request.
    • Select Disable to disable BOOTP request processing.

This parameter can be configured separately for each of the bootp interfaces hosted on the device.
