DOCSIS data collection flow

The diagram below shows the DOCSIS data collection flow.

DOCSIS data flow in the ServAssure Collection Platform as described in the numbered list below.

The flow is:

  1. A job trigger prompts ServAssure Collection Manager to read a collection job definition stored in the local persistent database.
  2. The ServAssure Collection Manager places various collection jobs across CMTSs onto the message bus.
  3. Any poller in the ServAssure Poller cluster can pick up a job from the message bus.
  4. The poller will communicate with the CMTS contained within the job definition over the appropriate protocol.
  5. Once the data collection is complete, the poller pushes that data back to the ServAssure Collection Manager.
  6. Any ServAssure Collection Manager instance in the cluster can pick up the data, normalize it and push it to ServAssure NXT and the message bus.
  7. ServAssure Collection Manager pushes data through the message bus to ServAssure NXT over HTTP.
