If you are interested in the worst alarms in a limited region of the monitored network, you can limit your focus to one or more locations, such as particular markets, areas, or hubs. You can choose the regions of the network that you want to view, by selecting Show Alarms in the Hierarchy in the left pane. This Hierarchy depicts the monitored network from the top (organization) down to the CMTS .

NOTE: Selections in the Hierarchy are retained in your browser, from one session to the next.
To select regions of the network:
  1. Open the Global (Top) Alarms page.
  2. In the left pane, select the check boxes for the regions of the network that you want to examine.

    You can:

    • click the top check box in the Hierarchy to select all elements in the Hierarchy. Click the top check box again to deselect all elements in the Hierarchy.
    • select only the region of the network you want to examine. The upper check boxes turn into a straight line to indicate partial selection.
    • search for a Hierarchy element by typing an element name in the Search Hierarchy field. Click one of the search results, which are highlighted in the Search Results box.
  3. In the right pane, view the alarms associated with the selected regions.
