From the Configuration & Status page, you can compare the actual and configured parameters of a device by right-clicking on the parameter to view any discrepancies. The actual parameters of a device are those parameters stored on the device itself; the configured parameters of a device are those configured by the user and recorded in the SDM.

When there is a potential discrepancy between the actual and configured parameters of a device, the parameter is highlighted red in the Configuration & Status page. A minor alarm is also generated for the device. To view the actual and configured values for that parameter, right-click the field.

If there is a discrepancy:

  1. Click the Administration tab, if it is not already displayed.
  2. Click Configuration in the Synchronize panel to perform a Configuration Synchronization on the device. If no discrepancy exists, the alarm is cleared and the parameter is no longer highlighted red. If there are discrepancies, a pop-up displays indicating there are discrepant parameters. The system ask if you want to fix the discrepancies.
  3. Click Yes. The Device Parameters Report screen displays.
  4. Run a Device Parameter Report, if the alarm is not cleared and the parameter is still highlighted red, to identify the discrepancy.
  5. Resolve the discrepancy (and if necessary, update the parameters) for the device in the Properties window for the device.
