New features and enhancements for this release include:

Support for the RD4 Series RD1424-M4 RPD

ServAssure® NXT supports RD4 Series RD1424-M4 RPD in this release. This device supports Standard and Static Pseudowire modes on both SCQAM and OFDMA channels and is qualified for streaming UTSC (L2TP).

For software versions and related details, refer to the CommScope/ARRIS/Casa devices table in Supported CMTS and DAA devices or Appendix D: Upstream Spectrum analysis compatibility in ServAssure® NXT User Guide.

For comparison of capture modes and details on frequency spans, refer to the tables in the Upstream Spectrum capture summary chapter in ServAssure® NXT User Guide.

Support for Modem Reset Reason

Added support for event reporting of the reason for modem resets on ARRIS/CommScope CM8200B and CM3500B modems. Modem Reset Reason provides visibility into the cause of modem resets. This allows accurate reporting about modem resets that were affected or influenced by their network (for example, HFC-related problems) vs modem resets due to external factors (for example, power outages).

For more information on modem reset reasons, refer to ServAssure® NXT API Guide.

Multi-user viewing of upstream spectrum capture

The Upstream Spectrum Analyzer is enhanced to permit multiple users to view an ongoing active spectrum capture. Upstream Spectrum Analyzer users can initiate or view an ongoing capture. Viewers of an ongoing capture receive FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) data in real-time, but are not able to pause, stop or extend the live session. The number of users is controlled by a setting in Tenant Configuration.

For more information on multi-user viewing, refer to ServAssure® NXT User Guide.

Upstream Spectrum Analyzer presets for frequency split and channel width or bin size

User presets are available for the Upstream Spectrum Analyzer X-Axis and Y-Axis, including:

  • X-Axis high, medium, and low splits

You can now configure the X-Axis of the spectrum capture by preset frequency splits: High Split, Mid Split, and Low Split. The frequency ranges for the splits are defined in Tenant Configuration.

  • Y-Axis selection by channel width or bin size

You can now configure the Y-Axis of the spectrum capture by selecting channel width or bin size for the power density calculation on the Y-Axis.

For more information on graphing upstream spectrum capture, refer to ServAssure® NXT User Guide.

Additionally, a new set of keys is added to the REALTIME_ANALYSIS tab of Tenant Configuration to enable user presets for the Upstream Spectrum Analyzer frequency ranges. You can now configure low, mid, and high split options for the X-Axis of an upstream spectrum capture graph.
SplitKey NamesDefault frequency range

For more information on the frequency split keys, refer to ServAssure® NXT Design and Installation Guide.

Upstream Spectrum Analyzer user persistence

With this release, some user selections are preserved when you navigate away from Upstream Spectrum Analyzer and return.

For more information refer to "In-session user preferences" in ServAssure® NXT User Guide.

Physical fiber node name display

In this release, the physical fiber node name is now displayed in Upstream Spectrum Analyzer in these places:
  • Info dialog box
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Capture tab title

For more information refer to ServAssure® NXT User Guide.
