SDM Health Status

Status polling is enabled for any device that is managed. The SDM maintains periodic communication with devices through status polling and by receiving traps. When the SDM loses communication with a device, it generates an alarm and continually attempts to re-establish communication once every five seconds. Once the communication is re-established, the alarm is cleared.

The SDM Health Report indicates the overall status of the SDM, as well as the heartbeat status. The report is delivered through e-mail. You can also schedule recurring SDM Health Reports.

To access the SDM Health Report feature, select Fault > SDM Health Report. The SDM Health Report window is displayed:

Setting/Field

Description

EnabledEnables/disables scheduling of recurring SDM Health Reports delivered through e-mail.

Start Time

Sets the time for the SDM to begin e-mailing the SDM Health Report

Interval

Sets how often the SDM Health Report is generated and e-mailed.

From

Indicates the SDM name.

Subject

Sets the subject heading to appear in the e-mail.

Recipients

Sets the e-mail address(es) to which the SDM Health Report is sent. Use a space or comma to separate multiple recipients.

Last Attempted

The date and time of the last attempt to deliver the SDM Health Report. Click Refresh to update.

Last Successful

The date and time the last SDM Health Report was successfully delivered. Click Refresh to update.

Completion Status

The status of the SDM Health Report. Click Refresh to update.

To e-mail the current SDM Health Report:
  1. Ensure that Enabled is NOT selected.
  2. Type the <SDM name> in the From field.
  3. Type the <e-mail subject heading> in the Subject field.
  4. Type the <e-mail address(es)> to which the SDM Health Report is sent in the Recipients field.
  5. Click Send Now.
    To schedule recurring e-mail delivery of the SDM Health Report:
  6. Select Enabled.
  7. Type the <time> to start delivery in the Start Time fields.
  8. Select <how often> from the Interval drop-down box; the SDM Health Report is displays.
  9. Type the <SDM name> in the From field.
  10. Type the <e-mail's subject heading> in the Subject field.
  11. Type the <e-mail address(es)> to which the SDM Health Report is sent in the Recipients field.
  12. Click Apply to save your settings and then click Close to close the window.
