Standard capture supports up to 360 MHz, depending on CMTS. For more information, refer to Upstream Spectrum capture summary.

To perform a standard capture:

  1. Open the US Spectrum Analyzer application; see Access upstream spectrum analyzer.
  2. Enter a CMTS name and channel string in the format like: <CMTS name>@<channel string>. You can also select an item from Search History as described in Search channel.
  3. Select Standard from the Mode drop-down menu.
  4. Specify a start and end frequency. For more information, refer to Capture controls — standard mode.
  5. Select a value for Samples that represents the number of samples required for this capture.
    NOTE: Ending frequency and the number of samples determine the resolution per point.
  6. Your Domain is automatically set to Frequency.
  7. Set a Marker Width value.
  8. You can optionally set one or more markers, as described in Set markers.
  9. Specify a value for Service Identifier.
    Refer to Service Identifier for options.
  10. Specify a value for Capture Interval as defined in Capture controls — standard mode.
  11. Optionally, you can specify a custom range for the X and Y axes, as described in Set up X and Y axes.
  12. Press Play to start the capture.
  13. Extend analysis time if needed. See Extending analysis time.
