ServAssure NXT has three selection contexts:

  • Available: The set of all the data that is available in a particular view. In most cases, this is the content of an entire fiber node.
  • Selection: Generally, a subset of the Available data.
  • Special Selection: A subset of the selected data, which may be visually distinct.
    • Graph view: Drag your cursor across (strum) a line or select a MAC address in the Frequencies tab, and it appears highlighted in purple in the graph and in the other views that show special selections.
    • Map and Logical views: Click a topology element and it turns purple. It also appears purple in the other views that show special selections. Note that special selection is not available for power supplies or power inserters. Selecting a power supply highlights the elements that are powered by it, as described in Highlight elements powered by a power supply.
    • Alarms view: Click an inspection point on the Info tab, and the location turns purple in the other views that show special selections.
Alarm Central Alarms tab with a Proactive alarm. The info tab is opened and one of the inspection points is circled, indicating that it has been selected. On the adjacent map tab, the selected amp is purple.

For each view, this table explains what items are included in the available data, what can be selected, and which special selections are available. Some information can also be filtered, which is different from selection.
