Request the license file through Element Manager using https://<VPS #2_IP_address>:5557 (VUE controller).
  1. Login to EM as a VUE user that was configured in Keycloak.
  2. Click System > Licenses.

    The License Request screen shows the current number of licenses for features in use on your system.

    NOTE:
    • The number of Broadcast and Narrowcast licenses is the number of output transport streams (each can contain multiple mappings). Therefore, there is a 1-to-1 correspondence between the number of Broadcast and Narrowcast licenses and the number of MPTS transport streams that can be used for manual routings or SDV routings.
    • The number of Aux Core licenses for DAA/RPD/RMD support can be entered as 500 or 50 or 10. Each license allows a user to control up to 500 or 50 or 10 RPDs/RMDs respectively. For example, one 500 Aux Core license, one 50 Aux Core license, and 10 Aux Core license allows you to control up to 560 total RPDs/RMDs.
  3. Enter the desired number of Total Requested licenses.
    • The total requested number must include the current number of licenses and the number of new licenses requested.
    • The total requested number cannot be less than the existing number (you cannot reduce the number of licenses assigned to a VUE system).
  4. Click Submit Request.
  5. Click on Download Request File (.req) selection to download the file. License Request file is automatically generated and downloaded. The default location is the Downloads directory. File name will be VUE_uuid_date.req. VUE Request File example, VUE_1baad0ac-2803-11ea-8ac8-0050568d0ecb_20200124134501.req.
To generate ULS license file
  1. Login to the CommScope ULS web page using your Single Sign-On user id and password – https://uls.pki-center.com/DMVWeb/
  2. After you log in, generate VUE license by selecting the site, Product Series, and Request Type uploading license request file.
    1. Product Series = VUE
    2. Request Type = Request File
  3. Click Upload File and browse to the location of downloaded VUE license request file.
  4. Click Upload.
    The screen displays license request details with the option to go to the Review Request step.
  5. Verify if the request is correct and click Review Request.
    The request file is validated, and the Review License Request window is displayed.
  6. Click Generate License to generate a VUE license file.
  7. After the License File is generated, you are taken to the License Generation Results screen which displays the content of the selected License File.
  8. Click Download to download the License File to removable media. A license file is named same as the request file except the extension will be .lic instead of .req.
