To improve performance in Microsoft Edge, use the following procedure to run in Private Mode. Private mode automatically disables your extensions.

To troubleshoot performance in Microsoft Edge
  1. Start Microsoft Edge in Private Mode. Private Mode automatically disables your extensions. From the Settings and More menu, select New InPrivate window to open an InPrivate browsing window.

  2. If running in Private Mode solves the performance issues, end Private mode, and try disabling extensions one at a time to see whether one is the cause.
    1. From the Settings and More menu, select Extensions > Manage Extensions to open a window with your currently installed extensions.

    2. On the Installed extensions window, disable an extension by sliding the blue button to the OFF position.

    3. Continue disabling your installed extensions and testing the result, until you discover the cause of your performance issue.
    WARNING: If you install the AdBlock extension, it must be disabled for the User or Admin help to open.
  3. If disabling extensions does not solve your performance issue, try clearing your browser cache.
    1. From the Settings and More menu, select Settings to open a window with your profile.
    2. In the Settings pane, click on Privacy, search, and services.
    3. Scroll to Clear browsing data and click Choose what to clear.
    4. Click Clear now.
