To improve performance in Microsoft Edge, use the
following procedure to run in Private Mode. Private mode automatically disables your
extensions.
To troubleshoot performance in Microsoft
Edge
- Start Microsoft Edge in Private
Mode. Private Mode automatically disables your extensions. From the
Settings and More menu, select New
InPrivate window to open an InPrivate
browsing window.
- If running in Private Mode
solves the performance issues, end Private mode, and try disabling extensions
one at a time to see whether one is the cause.
- From the Settings and More menu, select to open a window with your currently installed
extensions.
- On the Installed extensions window, disable an
extension by sliding the blue button to the OFF position.
- Continue disabling your installed extensions and testing the result,
until you discover the cause of your performance issue.
WARNING: If you install the AdBlock
extension, it must be disabled for the User or Admin help to open.
- If disabling extensions does not solve your performance issue, try clearing
your browser cache.
- From the Settings and More menu, select
Settings to open a window with your
profile.
- In the Settings pane, click on
Privacy, search, and services.
- Scroll to Clear browsing data and click
Choose what to clear.
