To improve performance in Mozilla Firefox, use the following procedure to run in Safe Mode, disable extensions, and clear the browser cache.
To troubleshoot performance in Firefox
- Open Firefox in Safe Mode. Safe Mode automatically disables your extensions.
Depending on your operating system, do one of these:
- Windows: Select Start > Run, and then type: firefox.exe -safe-mode
- macOS: Open Terminal, and then type: /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox -safe-mode
- Linux: In Terminal type: /[path to firefox]/firefox -safe-mode
- If running in Safe Mode solves the performance issues, disable extensions one at a time to see whether one is the cause.
- From the menu at the upper right of the Firefox browser, select Add-ons.
- At the left of the screen, click Extensions.
- On the Extensions screen, disable extensions.

NOTE: Ad Block must be disabled or User and Admin Help will not display.
- If disabling extensions does not solve the issue, clear the browser cache.
Select Options > Privacy and Security > Cookies and Site Data.
- Click Clear Data, and select both options.
- Click Clear.
