Follow this procedure to manually initiate a
failover. This will typically occur within a maintenance window. Before invoking failover, verify that
the standby server is ready to assume production operations.
NOTE: Manually initiating a failover
impacts operations in the active server.
- Login to Element Manager, https://<VPS
#2_IP_address>:5557.
- Click RC-Server in the
left navigation pane.
- Under Redundancy
Cluster, choose the cluster on which you wish to perform force
failover.
- Click the ellipsis menu (
) on the far right of the cluster row. - Click Force Failover
from the pull-down list.
Click
Yes to confirm
the suspension.
The system
displays a message prompting you to confirm the switchover operation. A
second message is displayed when the operation is successful.
The
previous standby server becomes the active server while the previous active
server becomes the standby server.
