To modify configuration of a redundancy cluster, failover must be suspended. You can also add or replace an existing standby server, if required. You can add a standby server by choosing the IP address from the drop-down list.

After a RC is created, you can add a new initial standby server or delete an existing initial standby server. To replace an existing initial standby server with a new server, you must first delete the current initial standby server from the RC and then add the new server as initial standby.

CAUTION: Suspend the cluster before you modify the redundancy cluster configuration. For more information, see Enable or disable suspension on redundancy cluster.

You can add or delete an initial standby server, but you are not allowed to delete the initial active server. During the initial configuration of an RC, you must configure an initial active server first and then add a standby server.

  1. Login to Element Manager, https://<VPS #2_IP_address>:5557.
  2. Click RC-Server on the left navigation pane.
  3. Under the Redundancy Cluster, choose the cluster you wish to modify.
  4. Click the ellipsis menu () on the far right of the cluster row.
  5. Click Suspend/Un-suspend from the pull-down list.
Click Yes to confirm the suspension.
  6. Click Modify from the pull-down list. The Modify Redundancy Clusters dialog is displayed.
Changes or failures in the server's configuration do not initiate a failover when a cluster is suspended. Alarming, monitoring, and heartbeat signals continue to communicate through the suspension of the cluster.

To add or replace a standby server, continue with step 7. To delete the existing standby server, skip step 6-10 and continue with step 11.

Add, modify, or replace a standby server
  1. To add a new standby server, choose a server from the drop-down list under the Initial Standby Server field.
  2. To add a HB to an initial standby server select HB IP from HB 1 or HB 2 drop down list. To change a HB IP requires the HB to be deleted and then re-added. Click the Delete HeartBeat button to delete the HB, submit the change, and then select new HB from drop down list. At least 1 HB must always be configured (cannot delete both HBs).
  3. Enter or modify the values for the initial standby server under Heartbeat Interface 1 and Heartbeat Interface 2.
  4. Enter or modify the values for the new server under Interface Configuration.
  5. Enter or modify the values for the new server under Traffic Configuration.
Delete the standby server from the cluster
  1. Click the Delete Standby Server button to delete the existing initial standby server.
If you choose to delete the current initial active server, then:
    1. Click the ellipsis menu () on the far right of the cluster row.
    2. Click Force Failover.
    3. Click Yes to confirm the suspension.
The standby server becomes the active server. The active server goes into a safe state, halting all the operations on it.
  2. Click the Delete button to confirm the deletion of the standby server.
  3. Click the Delete Heartbeat button to delete the existing heartbeat interface.
  4. Click Close to close the dialog.
